which service?
On the Sunday morning before Veteran’s Day, Reverend Chestnut noticed that little Craig was staring up at the commemorative decorations on the church altar.
Each decoration was covered with names and small American flags were mounted on either side of it. The 10- year-old boy had been staring at the altar for some time, so the minister walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning, Craig."
“Good morning, Reverend," replied Craig, still focused on the plaque.
A long paused ensued before Craig whispered his question. "Reverend Chestnut, what is this?"
“Well, son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service."
Soberly they stood together, staring at the memorials.
Little Craig's voice was barely audible when he asked, "May I ask which service, Reverend? The 9:00 or the 10:30?"
