the only one

A recovering alcoholic told a friend that every morning when he wakes up he prays to God for another day of sobriety.  And every night before going to bed, he thanks God for giving him another day of sobriety.   

"How do you know it was God who gave you the day of sobriety?" the friend asked.   

"It had to be," the man responded.  "He was the only one I asked."
